SwiftKey 3 Beta, with Smart Space, new UI, themes and more!

UPDATE: New SwiftKey 3 Beta details below.

Today heralds the launch of the SwiftKey 3 Beta – the latest version of our multi-award winning Android keyboard that we’ve been working flat out on for the last six months. Only three days ago as an April Fools’ prank, we jested that we’d reinvented the keyboard again. Thing is, this time we really have.

Not only do we actually have a larger spacebar with improved typing UI for you (as requested by so many users) but SwiftKey 3 is also the most advanced touchscreen keyboard the world has to offer.

We’ve cracked one of the hardest problems that exists in text entry – how to correctly determine when a user has missed spaces. With our new Smart Space technology, SwiftKey 3 figures out when you’ve missed spaces (or maybe hit a letter instead) across long strings of sloppy text. So you can type “Lleasexqllme” and SwiftKey 3 will know you mean “Please call me”. Or perhaps you type “Swidykeuvroxla”, where in fact you mean “SwiftKey rocks”. It makes typing much, much easier. You can even type a whole sentence out without hitting space once.

There are too many other innovations and improvements in SwiftKey 3 to detail here, but  notable highlights include two new beautiful themes, support for the Android backup service (so you’ll never lose learned phrases again), and support for seven new languages, including Korean and Persian (Farsi).

UPDATED MAY 4: We’ve been working very hard to bring you an update to SwiftKey 3 Beta, and we hope you’ll like it.

We’ve read all of your feedback (a pretty gigantic task) and we believe that this version is a significant improvement on the previous build.

Since the last version we have:

* Improved the UI: there is now a dedicated comma key, and the <123> key is now in the bottom-left corner. And of course you still have the larger spacebar.
* Refined the Smart Punctuation pop-up.
* Reintroduced the Long-press duration setting.
* Improved Smart Space functionality.
* Further reduced lag on some devices.
* Fixed a number of bugs, including the missing decimal point in the numpad and the “What’s New” dialog popping up all the time.

UPDATED MAY 30: We have a brand new Beta for you to try out!

As always, we have made changes based on feedback from our VIPs, and we want to thank them for helping us to make this version of SwiftKey 3 Beta the best yet.

This new Beta has:

  • Improved prediction algorithms
  • Better, more consistent punctuation key behavior
  • Smarter Smart Space functionality (which will make it easier to enter email addresses etc)
  • A refined experience in Google Chrome Beta
  • Fixed missing predictions on the longpress of @ and .com
  • Improved gestures
  • Eliminated lag on letter pop-ups
  • Various other minor bug fixes and usability improvements

This version is still a Beta, and as such there are some issues that we are still working on. Rest assured, the final SwiftKey 3 will be (with your help) even better. Join our 60,000-strong VIP Community to let us know what you think of this Beta and help shape the future of SwiftKey Your feedback is very important to us, and we truly appreciate you giving your time and attention to help make SwiftKey the best keyboard on Android.

free upgrade for existing users or paid?

  • Hector Farfan

I have the swiftkey tablet x keyboard and I love it. In also have tried others and yours is the BEST .I would love to try the beta version .

  • Mike

Some constructive criticism: can we have an option to remove the Swiftkey button at the bottom and reinstate the comma key? Press-and-hold for a comma is a real pain.

  • Nathan

Looks great…my only criticism is the same as Mike’s – it would be nice to have a dedicated button for commas. I know it’s probably a “branding thing” or whatever, but it would be nice to have an option to remove the SwiftKey button and have a dedicated comma button instead.

  • http://www.hyoungryman.com Hyoun Kim

I’ve been praising Swiftkey X forever… and telling everyone about it. I can’t believe there’s a new one.

How do I get in on your beta?

  • Kelvin

Going to have to agree with Mike and Nathan-I kinda miss the didicated comma button.

One thing that doesn’t seem to work for me is linking facebook and twitter accounts for personalization even though i’m connected to wifi.

I was also wondering if you already bought this app if you would get a free upgrade.

Other than that, pretty good beta and love the new improvements and themes!

  • Kristina F

I downloaded the beta….it is by far the Laggiest keyboard I have ever used on a phone. it was not made for people that type fast on a virtual keyboard. it takes a good 5-10 seconds to catch up with what i’m saying…and the whole writing a sentaece without spaces thing? ya didn’t worik and all the words in the sentence were spelled correctly. I’m glad its only a beta and I didn’t pay $$ for it. Smark Keyboard Pro was worth every penny i spent on it. Virtually lag free…if it lags its no more than a second. It has calibration so you don’t fat finger keys, and it’s got a dictionary that learns as well as lots of keyboard skins to choose from. it’s just overall better.

Sorry Swiftkey, I don’t like to post bad reviews but this one just doesn’t cut it.

  • http://androidum.blogspot.com maranello

yep, a dedicated comma button is a must for the final release, please take this into consideration dev team :)

  • Luis

NO, NO, NO, NO!!! I can’t believe it! You removed the comma key!!!! The most key used… Incredible!!!!

After waiting so long for this.. pss

REMOVE the Swiftkey button! Or may be the dot.. NOT COMMA… psss

  • http://randallcarpetcare.com John

Haven’t played with this beta yet. First thing I noted during setup is that there is no longer the ability to alter the long press duration. This was on of the biggest pluses of SwiftKey. I hope it is reinstated.

  • Linete

I have had an android for 15 months now and have tried soooo many keyboards, but the ONLY one I use and really love is Swiftkey!! It really is the best one around and I can type super fas on it! It really is a must have app for any android user!!

  • SoWhy

Since this version does not replace the previous SwiftKey X, could you add an option to import the personalized data from the old app?

  • Jens

Will there be a update or must have to buy a new one??

  • Erik

I know you are all proud of the Smart Space feature. But is there any way we can disable this? When typing in Swedish, where we have a lot of compounded words, this app completely ruins the language by implementing spaces where there should not be any spaces (i.e. giving the things I write a completely different meaning). So please, could we have an option where we could opt-out for the Smart Space feature?

  • Zytrel

The dedicated buttons for comma, period and question mark were the main reason I went with SwiftKey. I have no use for a bigger space, nor have I ever had issues with it.
SwiftKey used to be the perfect keyboard for the precise typist. The beta feels like ClumsyKey.

  • Chad

Will this version allow those of us with ICS use the new Voice Dictation option rather than the one that comes with SwiftKey?

  • Deromedi

Cool beta but the option to adjust the long press timing is for me the key to fast typing…

  • Daniel Reynolds

This latest beta release is awesome. I’m loving it. It’s exactly what I was missing with ics. Thanks.

  • Nico Aguila

The new layouts are awesome and I’m currently using the tablet beta version as I am making this comment. It’s all good plus the auto correct functions became even better, giving phrases as suggestions really saves up time. Also, you could still fix the lag problem. You too can still fix the other languages and add some more so that many more could appreciate your software.

  • Dante

Miss option for long press, and i don’t like the new pontuantion style, this always break my fast write! =/
i like the old style, with fast access to “, . ! and ?”, please, if possible let a option for use a old or new style.

  • Dmitry

Please, fix the bug that don’t allow to use SwiftKey to edit long text. For example, open a text file of size > 5-10 kB in any editor (Jota etc.) and hide (close) keyboard. It takes 5-10 seconds. [Technical information: extractTextInternal doesn't use ExtractedTextRequest.hintMaxChars or hintMaxLines and that the whole document is returned in each getExtractedText()]

  • João

I love the slide to access pontuaction and foreign characters and the new themes. A bad thing is that the keyboard seems to be slower than the one on the previous version . Besides that, the new version is great and I´m sure you will improve it even more before the rtm version.

  • http://www.playmuzikk.de/ Scorp

The new cobalt theme looks great! But I’m a little bit sceptical about the moved comma key.

I own both the phone and tablet version of Swiftkey and the one thing that has always annoyed me is that the arrow keys are not available in the Tablet version like they are in the phone version.
Will this be rectified in Swiftkey 3?

Good job guys, but i had 2 issues testing out your new version:

    1. I really NEED to change the “long press”-time. in swiftkey x, i’ve set it to about 100ms, so i can type numbers and special characters really fast. please add that feature again!

    2. i would love to keep the swiftkey x keyboard layout. long clicking for ? ! sucks and i need the ^ on long press c for my smiley action. ^^

besides that, great work, space recognition works great and the new themes are awesome aswell. :)

fix those two things and i’ll instantly buy the new version, too. :)

  • ehamps

I really like the space-less writing abilities of this one. Nice work indeed!

What I don’t like, however, is the non-optional (and for me at least, completely useless) ‘Swiftkey’ button in the oh-so-important left corner. Especially now that it’s taken the place of the numpad button that we’ve gotten so used to having there. I’m also with the masses on the comma-button thing. Swiping is cute and all, but not nearly as convenient and precise as a dedicated button.

Also, am I the only one who finds it a little ironic that you’ve put all this great work in decimating the need for the spacebar, while actually making the spacebar bigger? ;)

  • cimst

Did anyone recognize, that the comma appears if you just swipe over the period button to the left. No need to kept the button pressed.

  • Hermes

I can believe that after so many persons asking to removethe useless Swiftkey you continue without giving the option to make it dissapear, and you quit the comma button! What a great dissapoinment.

  • nara

Still the best keyboard, fast typing and comfortable layout. But I had something to complain for this beta version. 1. So big installed file (>9mb, using tree laguage english, indonesian and hangul) and consume ram way too much for keyboard application (>45 mb) while the default keyboard only use 8 mb ram

I love swiftkey, but I have to agree with the others above who are not supper excited about losing the coma key…It sounds ironic that we are getting a longer space bar but reducing the need for the space bar :-D .

One thing I love about swiftkey is all the customization options. Add features yes, but please don’t remove tweaking options we had before. Combine this with the option to tweak or disable any new features, and this will continue to be the best keyboard ever!

  • Packy57

IMHO this is the best version of SK for far. I hardly wait for the final product. Will we have to purchase this new version if we already have the paid version of SKX?

  • Glenn

    Long press duration please?

And to have to have the keyboard return to typing after pressing the “return” button.

  • Paolo

Faster than the previous one but I’m missing the comma and question mark button.

  • Jonathan

I would like to see an auto space option – when it thinks there should be a space it auto inputs, that sort of thing

  • Elzin

Great keyboard. Very good and functional design. For me, personally, it changed the whole concept of writing in Android, for which I thank the developers. In fact, in the beginning I missed the fast access to the comers a little bit but after writing for a couple of hours I liked it :) ) Unfortunately, the new Smart Space option does not work very well in Bulgarian, I get strange words with no meaning, so I hope you will fix that or at least add an option to switch it off in some languages :-) In terms of speed it works well and I am impressed with the new skins. I am looking forward to the final version (Acer iconia tab A100) :) )

  • Lani

I went back to using SwiftKey X, because of the lack of a dedicated comma key on Beta 3. It defeats the purpose of efficiency.

Also, I know the keyboard looks clean with a monochromatic/cool color palette, but can we get at least one theme that features a feminine color?

  • Matt

Loving it so far. One thing I’ve always wanted to see is post word capitalization tweaks. For example, say I accidentally hit the caps and type Word. My only option to change it word is to delete and type again. Wouldn’t it be nice to just be able to tap the word, then tap the caps button to toggle between Word, word, and WORD? This would also help when missing the caps on a proper noun.

  • jack the heck

Need the comma key, please !

  • Armand

I bought swiftkey x very soon and I still think it’s the best keyboard around but I suggest a dedicated coma button would be great and a possibility to write without prediction or not to save every new word automaticaly (a double tap would be great, first to write the new word, second to store it).

Go on the great work on version 3!

  • Rasmus Blomqvist

I agree with people – buttons for commas and question marks are really needed. The cool thing about the old SwiftKey was the small space bar that didn’t took up a whole lot of the valuable space. Hope you will listen to these suggestions!

Other than that, great improvements. :)

  • DMC

The bug I’m experiencing has to do with Widget Locker, my lock screen replacement. When I type from the lock screen, the predictions don’t work. I just get the SwiftKey keyboard without the predictions row. It’s pretty limiting because I frequently respond to text messages directly from the lock screen without unlocking my phone.

I also really miss the adjustments for gestures sensitivity and long-press duration.

  • Kenny c.

It’d be nice if there was a way to make the keyboard auto correct the last word when you hit send to save another key stroke!

  • Geoff O.

If Swiftkey 3 can auto-add spaces the space-bar should not have been made longer. Could always shorten it again and re-add something…I don’t know…maybe the comma key…possibly.

  • http://www/freeringers.net/ Tim

I confused. I paid for SwiftKey, then paid for SwiftKey X, and I’m also running SwiftKey 3. I have both SwiftKey 3 and SwiftKey X on my phone. Which one is newer? Is SwiftKey X dead? Just very confused by all the different program names that seemingly do the same thing.

    Basically, which should I use?

  • http://www/freeringers.net/ Ringtones

I’d rather have a smaller spacebar and get my comma and period keys back. I only use my right thumb anyway for space, so that spacebar area on the left is never used.

The other problem I have is that the left shift key is hit accidently when I’m trying to hit the A key. I wish the shift zone was smaller to avoid this.

  • Richard Hassler

Well everyone wanted a longer spacebar which we finally got, now everyone is complaining about dedicated buttons that are missing. I guess the answer would be to add dedicated buttons as an option with the understanding that it could shorten the space bar. New keyboard is nice but their are some very long lagging problems when you press a button that seems to come up one in a while. Being a beta I assume this will be corrected.

Dedicated comma key is crucial for me, please at least allow a customisation of this!

  • Nick

I’d like to add that I don’t think you’re touting your voice typing enough. I love that feature. I love that it gives you three options, 1 of them is always correct. Typing on your keyboard is great, but don’t forget to mention speech recognition.

  • Erlend

I smiled at the april fool’s joke. Not smiling now. Please at least make longer spacebar vs comma key an option. Rather remove the (&% swiftkey-button.
    :)
Ok, one smile. But I’m serious.

  • Spurgu

A separate button for comma is definitely a must for the final release. It should also be possible to remove the Swiftkey/settings button – there’s no real need for it and it’s a pain when you accidentally touch it.

Thanks for the app though, it rocks in other aspects!

  • Daniel

Can the semi-colon have its own dedicated key on one of the three screens? Preferably on the 123 screen.

You should remove the three smiley face options from the {&= screen since long pressing the carriage return, present on every screen, brings up the smiley face screen. Also, I have the arrow keys always present and if you forced the arrow key row to be displayed on that screen, instead of turning it off, you would’ve gained a total of seven more keys that you could utilize for additional characters.

When on an email field and the keyboard is in landscape mode and you long press the @ key, the option for @gmail.com is cut-off/hidden.

So glad the dedicated comma key is back with the latest beta version!

Is it possible that I am confusing the keyboard by typing too rapidly? Sometimes I’ll type out multiple different words and it will make them all the same word…

  • Emanuele

I found your keyboard awesome, but in the lastest beta there aren’t the accented letter by pressing them for a sec… Why this reverse gear?

Sorry for my bad english, I’m italian (and I use with both languages)

  • Frankie1220

Selecting a word should select the whole word and not just where you tapped. that way when a correction is entered there wouldn’t be any stray letters.

  • http://sapnis.com N.R.

It’s been said above, but I also can repeat – long pressing a letter should select the “special character” not the symbol. For example in the Latvian keyboard, longpressing “i” defaults to “)” not “ī”. You should at least be able to select the default behavior, prefer symbols and numbers, or prefer language specific letters.

Thanks, otherwise the new beta rocks!

  • Jack Fariss

Why are users who have paid for SwiftkeyX still only allowed a month of beta. The thing I have been waiting for (adjusting time on long press duration) finally hits and my month expired. It tell me to upgrade to the full version but brings me to the market which is still on version 2.2. Overall great keyboard and love the word prediction with not needing to hit spaces! Just looking for SwiftkeyX 3.0 to hit the Play Store!

  • Brad Hilton

I’ve been using the purchased Swiftkey X for over a year. I installed Swiftkey 3 and have been using/loving it! Now I get message telling me i need to purchase it. Is this going to be a Swiftkey X upgrade or a new purchase? When will it be available??

  • Kyle

Question: how do we upgrade to Swiftkey 3? I’ve been using the beta for awhile now and I love it (it’s by far the best keyboard I’ve used). But now the beta has expired and the keyboard has disabled its functionality. I want to buy the keyboard so that I may continue to use it, but I can’t find it anywhere: it’s not on the Android Marketplace and the beta just directs me to Swiftkey X, which I already own and does not have the version 3 look and feel and functionality that I want. How do I upgrade?

  • Travis

So far I like it, but swiping to the left to erase a word only works about 25% of the time for me, most of the time I just end up with a string of random letters I have to erase with the delete key. Also a bug that’s present in swiftkey x as well is when you turn off the auto capitalize option it still suggests capitalized words and no amount of long pressing to delete them from the dictionary helps.

  • Damien

Love the improved beta with the comma button!!! :D Thanks for listening to the feedback! :)

Kyle, scroll up and you’ll get the link to the updated beta at the bottom of the post!

Having the same issue of wanting to purchase Swiftkey 3 in the Play store but keeps sending me to X which I already own.

  • Gary

yesterday, ICS got official released for the galaxy note and since i updated
the keyboard don’t show up on landscape

    im using v.3.0.0.190

  • luke

this is great but two things need to be fixed.

now that you have a dedicated button for a comma and full stop (which is much better btw) why are these still in the press and hold menu for the full stop. there should just be a question mark and exclamation mark one to the left and one to the right of the centre. this would allow easy swiping in a up left or right diagonal fashion from the full stop key to get these two symbols. currently you have to stretch all the way to the left. which is mistake prone and time consuming.

also there is bug on htc sensation where when selecting a word thats already been typed it doesnt select the whole word and only to the point where you select, this means the replacement has half of the old word on the end. also i cant tell if its me but it does seem to slow my phone down a bit.

only other suggestion i have is being able to swipe left and right on the spacebar to chose a predication other than the centre one.

other than that this app is AMAZING and i will recommend it to just about everyone i know. cant wait for the final

  • luke

also swyping left to delete isnt working 100%
could add sywpe right to redo perhaps?? not sure thats a brilliant idea though.

  • Ehrryk

    Hi !

I’ve a problem with the beta. Each time i leave from it, for example I’m typing a sms and i leave from my sms app, when i reopen SwiftKey, foreign caracters like “e” with stress have disapeared….

Sous i have to go in settings, untick and re-tick “foreign caracters”….

Have you heard about that ?
    Thanks !

  • Azhrei

After using the beta for a week I had to go back to Swiftkey X as the beta kept doing incorrect grammer corrections. Things like turning the correctly typed word “the” into “then” or “there” which was completely wrong in the context of the sentence I was typing. Other than that issue though I liked the beta’s ability to detect a missed spacebar hit and the larger spacebar is nice. The loss of a dedicated ? key threw me for a loop a few times but I think I can get used to it’s new location once you’ve ironed out the other bugs.

  • Lyrops

This update works great and I think your keyboard should really be awesome but there is one major problem for me, I’m still waiting for an option to disable the automatic deletion of the space before “?” and “!”. I find this really annoying !

  • luke

The new beta doesn’t seem to do contractures very well for me. im becomes image instead of I’m and ill becomes illegal instead of I’ll like before

  • Daniel

Another issue I’ve now noticed: the smiley face screen does not work in landscape mode. The screen simply disappears.

  • Angel

It would be nice if we could customize the smileys from the settings. Personally I’d rather use :) instead of :-) because my friends hate the nose (not everyone has smartphones that change emoticons automatically).

And PLEASE remove the SwiftKey key. Everyone uses their own key, but it only takes up space. We never actually use it and that space would be better if it were used for something better, like a comma key.

    Thanks!

  • Ary

    Still my favorite keyboard.

Would like to be able to customize gesture sensitivity and long press duration. I don’t like having to make such big swipes or wait so long to pull up a number.

    Thanks

  • Ruben

The space prediction is awesome. Still my primary keyboard. Love having the comma key back. My question/gripe has to do with the new layout of the letters themselves.

Is there any real reason to do away with the staggered diagonal configuration from q to a to z in the qwerty layout? I understand the keys end up being a bit bigger this way, but a lifetime of typing in slanted qaz configurations make me miss the a every time and type an s.

Would it be possible to leave one alternative layout that keeps these the same as 2.xx?

  • http://seeph.wordpress.com Seeph

I have a problem with the foreign characters too, the “long press” to access them doesn’t work by default each time you go to use the keyboard. I have to go into the menu and untick, then retick the box for the option for long press every time I want it use it.

Other than that, great keyboard, loving the new improvements and halo theme looks very classy. Occasional lag when first opening but nothing major.

  • dg

    best keyboard but s l o w on xperia x10 mini!!!

  • Sandy

The autocorrect feature is really frustrating. I was trying to type a hashtag into a tweet #mancrugbyleagueteams and as soon as I get to the “l” it starts adding spaces all over, breaking the hashtag.
My style is set to ‘precise’ and my spacebar is set to always insert a space.

  • Marcus

This keyboard is amazing. I’m Singaporean and we have our own variant of English called Singlish, which is awesomely complicated and extremely hard to learn (it takes colloqiallisms from English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil) if you don’t live in Singapore itself.

This keyboard really takes the cake because of the personalisation thing. I wish Singlish could be made into an official Swiftkey library, but that’s probably hoping for too much.

Either way, apart from the slight lag which is probably just me picking at nits(Singaporeans are extremely fast texters, we won the inaugural international text-typing competition), it runs pretty smoothly on my Galaxy Nexus.

The biggest complaint I have about this is the available themes. All of them look like they came from the Touchwiz 2.0 or Sense 1.0 era. And since the Autocorrect is so effing efficient(especially with SmartSpace), it makes no sense for the autocorrect bar to be so huge.

I would love to keep the smooth no-frills look of the ICS stock keyboard while retaining the functionality of Swiftkey.

    Cheers.

  • pat

    Still no mandarin chinese input.

  • Rafael

I purchased SwiftKey X after reading reviews stating it was even better than using Swype. I really, really am getting a kick out of it and put my wife through a lot of nonsense SMS messages trying it out.

The best thing about it is, indeed, the word prediction. Its easier to type than with the regular keyboard interface on my Sensation 4G, but I’d get upset rereading what I’d sent sometimes, with SwiftKey X and 3 Beta this happens a lot less and I don’t have to follow up with correction messages to said recipient(s). There’s no Swype-like option from what I see but if the final result is achieved and correct in a smaller time frame then it was worth the investment for me and their End User License Agreement puts me at ease with my purchase… assuming they’re not doing with my info what I wouldn’t really want them to do given the choice. :-P

I’ll take SwiftKey 3 final as a free upgrade or pay in full quite honestly, I like it that much… and I really don’t like to put crap on my phone. This, I find, is utilitarian.

The recognition is shoddy for words like “I’ll” and “I’m” and other words with apostrophes. On SwiftKey X I can type i-m and “I’m” will be there as a prediction. With the beta, those words are never offered; you have to manually capitalize the first letter, or sometimes even manually add the apostrophe. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

Please, add button for hide keyboard!

I bought Swiftkey on my last phone and deleted that account, but until they make the voice input the default with the swiftkey being the long press I will not use it. I actually use voice input on my device, and that’s an experience killer.

swiftkey is by far the best keyboard for android, but would it be possible to have an option to have predictions with all diacritics removed (on a e i o u etc) even though the language is using it?

let me explain a bit better what I mean:

the problem is that if one lives or use swiftkey in certain countries to send text messages to others which use diacritcs (like France, Spain Norway, Sweden etc etc) then the length of your text (i.e number of characters allowed per text message) is greatly reduced. In the end a text of 160/180 characters (i.e using no diacritics) can become as short as 60 or 70 if you use diacritics, and as a consequence you send 2 or 3 texts, when only 1 is needed!

So I’ve tried the 3 beta and liked it, but now it’s expired and doesn’t work anymore.
I’ve purchased the X version, but I’d like to continue using the beta version.
I have both of them installed.
How can I enable the 3rd version again?

    Regards
    Ariel Voskov

Can the beta learn from the X version or is that all gone?

  • Jason

    Ariel,

You can re-download the newest version of the SwiftKey 3 Beta on your device from http://vip.swiftkey.net/sk3beta

This will cause it to function again, rather than tell you that it is expired.

    Enjoy!

The beta works well. But I’d like to be able to edit my custom dictionairy list. When you click a wrong word for example, it automatically adds it to you dictionairy. When you dictionairy doesn’t contain a word and the word is at the biginning of a sentence, the word is automatically capitalized. When you add that word to you dictionairy, it only knows the capitalized word. I’d like to be able to edit that costum list.

    Jason,

are we able to upgrade to 3 full without any additional costs? I purchased X after clicking the “Upgrade now” button in the 3 beta, not realizing it’s the old version..

    Kind Regards,
    Sven

    Anybody?
“Can the beta learn from the X version or is that all gone?”

There’s an indirect way it can “Learn” from your SwiftKey X data-the usual Personalization; Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and RSS feeds and, since I don’t utilize the aforementioned, “Learn from SMS”.

I assume TouchType Ltd. utilizes these methods rather than a more direct “import data” method because an “import data” method would be more likely to constrain keyboard layout. SwiftKey’s “learning” seems more based on your writing style rather than finger hotspots.

Loving the bigger space bar. It’s the reason I stopped using SK in the first place, original space bar is too small.

  • Meee

Well if you teach a keyboard new words, cause maybe you express a little different than on the sources it was learning from, I’d expect to backup and port that to any future versions…

Can you please add option to have the accented symbols turned off on main keyboard? Like the @ # ( ) symbols. I t would be nice to have it show only the accented numbers. Looks cleaner :) ) please please please!

  • Mikael

When using the small buttons, the letters on the keyboard are much too small, they don’t need that much white space. The font size in SwiftKey X was much better. Otherwise seems like a great upgrade :-)

I like a lot of the changes, but I wish you’d bring back the theme with the green coloration. I went to check out the new themes, and lost it. That’s my only real gripe, though. Cause green is my favorite color. :-D

SwiftKey worked well for a short time. Downloaded an update and it will not work anymore unless I buy a new product AGAIN. They also do not answer text’s when you ar begging for help. Might be a good product but a lousy company.
