Prizedraw winners revealed – who won a tablet?

Winner: School counselor Christine

Winner: School counselor Christine

The three lucky winners of a brand new smartphone or tablet of their choice can finally be revealed. We asked you to fill out a short survey in return for a chance to win and over 17,000 of you responded.

Congratulations to Christine O from Kansas, US; Pradeep R M from Maharashtra, India and Gary C from Victoria, Australia who were all selected in the prize draw.

We’re busy crunching the survey data and will share some of the results with you soon. In the meantime, here’s what our winners had to say when they found out they were set to become the proud owners of new gadgets.

Christine chose an iPad 3 as her prize but says she’s a “devoted user” of SwiftKey on her smartphone as it helps her stay down with the kids.

Winner Gary

Gary won a Samsung Galaxy S3

“I work as a middle school counselor,” she said. “SwiftKey allows me to keep up with my students and text almost as fast as they do. Winning this has me thrilled to pieces! Thank you so much for a quality product that just continues to get better and better and for this amazingly generous prize.”

Gary opted for a Samsung Galaxy S3. “At first I couldn’t believe that I was one of the lucky three who’d won… I’m absolutely ‘over the moon’ about it!” he told us afterwards.

“Since switching to the intuitive SwiftKey on my tablet and phone, I’ve found that effective communication is so much easier with its predictive texts and it cleverly learns from me through connection to my Gmail, Twitter and Facebook accounts – magic!”

Winner Pradeep

Pradeep, who asked for an iPhone 4S, said it was of real importance to him to be able to communicate quickly and easily. He explained: “Typing is one of the regular things that I do, especially while messaging which I do a minimum of 30-80 times day.”

But he says the challenge remains for all touchscreens to be as easy to write on as qwerty physical keyboards. We think we’ve cracked it with SwiftKey, do you?

Last but not least, a big thank you to the editors and readers of our blog partners, Mobile Nations and Pocket-Lint.

  • daiquiri

“Pradeep, who asked for an iPhone 4S, said it was of real importance to him to be able to communicate quickly and easily. ” loooloooolololol sooooooo quickly and easily is without Switfkey?

  • Michael

Are you serious! They chose Apple products! Really! The 3rd place guy really and I mean really just slapped Swiftkey X in the face! Or am I the only one that see that?????

Maybe from now on you only offer prizes that can use your product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jakub

Next better make a prize giving based on people who using swiftkey through the counters that swiftkey has. This is reallu bad to make competition about product for android and most of winners choose apple crap…its like swype competition for bada users…

  • One

Calm down fellas. They probably chose the Apple products to sell off anyway, since they’re in general more expensive and have a better resale value…

  • Pradeep

    I Won :)

    Hi, all

A rising tide raises all boats.
I use swift keep with the help of a stylus because of my arthritis. I love it when I hardly have to write out a word. And, it keeps improving!!

  • Mark

What a sad screwed up world we live in, where these people win their choice of tablet, and then pick one that doesn’t run Swiftkey, but pick the ones that society EXPECTS them to choose.

Don’t they know there are some SERIOUSLY good tablets out there not made by Crapple?

    Transformer Prime for example…

Clearly swiftkey made an error of judgment when writing the rules, as it should have been Swiftkey compatible models as prizes only…

We deliberately allowed winners to choose ANY phone or tablet of their choice – even those that SwiftKey does not (yet) run on – so that we would get responses and information from a variety of smartphone/tablet users, not just Android users or SwiftKey fans.

  • Christine O

Wanted to chime in and explain my choice of an apple product. First and foremost, I hate all things apple with a burning passion. However, I already own android tablets and phones. Unfortunately, my school district leans toward the evil fruit empire ;) and so in this way it made sense for me to choose a product that I would have never purchased myself. Rest assured I’m an android devotee and SwiftKey is now and will continue to be the only keyboard for me!
