10BN downloads and a 10¢ promo!

Today is a big day for the Android ecosystem. Google has just confirmed that since its launch three years ago, the Android Market has now had over 10 BILLION downloads.

It also comes off the back of an amazing milestone for SwiftKey. Yesterday we confirmed that our users have now entered over 100 BILLION characters while using our keyboard. That’s enough letters to get from Earth to the Moon if printed in 12 point font. A BIG number.

And to add to that, we’ve just had an amazing week in the Android charts, where we became the world’s top paid app on the Android Market after an awesome Thanksgiving promotion.

We think this is all very awesome, and so to celebrate we’re taking part in an unprecedented promotion. For the next 24 hours, SwiftKey X will be available on the Android Market for just 10¢ (or similar low prices globally). That’s 95% off the $3.99 list price.

The Android Market is running this promotional period for the next 10 days, where each day 10 different premium apps will be featured. So if you’ve yet to get your hands on the full version of SwiftKey X, now would be a very good time!

Cheers,
Joe

    Dear Joe,

Congratulations on your success. unfortunately i purchased the App yesterday at full price but still feel like a got a bargain.

i have been using the Thumb Keyboard and frankly loved the split keyboard and double V and double G keys on the split screen.. but SwiftKey wins the intuitive award by a LANDSLIDE.

I JUST TYPED A LONG TEXT WITH ONLY PUSHING ABOUT 20 CHARACTERS… I’M STUNNNNNNNNED AT THE INTUITION OF THIS PROGRAM.. and because of your STRINGENT privacy policy i even felt good about letting the program “learn” my habits.

i frequently send texts back and forth to a friend named Rebekah. i get SICK AND TIRED that even after using “intuitive” programs STILL CONTINUE TO SUGGEST SPELLING IT AS …. Rebecca. To her, it’s not Rebecca, it’s Rebekah!!!! in my VERY FIRST TEXT it suggested Rebekah after i typed re.. i didn’t even have to capitalize the R!!!!! i haven’t even seen the “traditional spelling” (Rebecca) offered.

i am BEYOND IMPRESSED… and even though i payed full price for the App… i feel like i got a bargain. thank you for your (and your teams’) commitment to excellence. i also appreciate that you stick to what your good at instead of trying to just throw tons of junk apps into the Android Market for more revenue.

    thank you again.

i’m a new fan.. but a HUGE fan.

    sincerely,
    Steven Wms

    Hi,

Just a curiosity: how many installations did you have with this promo? Hope a lot…

    Cheers,

Why do I see it at $3.89? Is this some joke?

  • Ryan

Why does it say that I spent $3.90 in my library when I bought it for 10 cents?

  • Saurav

I missed the promotional offer, feeling terribly sad :(
Is there a chance in anyway I could get it in that offer? Please contact me if it’s possible.
    Thanks in advance.
